May 2014 Glossybox! As soon I got this from the post the box already felt very heavy than usual so it was exciting to open it this month! All in all I am very happy with this box but I wish I had the max factor primer! This month we have 5 full size products and the extra two are sample Sachs. I've never tried low end lipstick but so far so good (the downfall for this lipstick is that it is made in China! I've never really known a make up product to be made in China if I am honest with you so I was quite shocked). I think this months items is almost like a pampering session as there are loads of creams, serums and moisturizers involved and less of the make up. So I am thinking of this positively as I do pay attention to make up more than creams.

Looking forward to next months Glossybox!

L'Oreal Skin Perfection Day Moisturiser

One day I thought i'd try a day cream from the high street and I came across this. It is new by L'Oreal Paris The packaging itself is really pretty and I love the pink chrome effect on the lid, the cream inside is slightly pink but not so much - this may be a downfall issue for colour - it might be a issue for some people. It glides onto skin smoothly - you don't need to use too much of it - I do recommend this cream as a alternative if you are budgeting and want to try something pretty and new! Only £9.99 from Superdrug! thumbs up!

May 2014 Birchbox

Here is the May 2014 Birchbox!
This month they collaborated with Bazaar which was quite nice because they created special features and made an effort with presentation. I only actually like three products here, not particularly overwhelmed with this months box. The most favorable one has to be the nail varnish, this came in a really nice posh looking packaging which was nice - the colour itself is also good (orange/red shade). The second would be the Liz Earle face wash including a cloth - the result is fresh smooth - and would consider to purchase a full bottle. Thirdly the benefit mascara isn't bad at all as I've never tried this before - it works like a dream, definitely would purchase full size product. The other two products which is shampoo/conditioner and oil is just not really usable for me but will be handy when I go travelling so that's added to my travel collection for the time being! All in all I think the box is Ok, still debating whether to unsubscribe.

Botanics Facial Loofah

At the moment my aim is to get really clear skin, making an extra effort to go to that extra mile. Recently I bought this from boots as I have had been reading some reviews in how to exfoliate your skin properly - this the secret to clear skin - so we need a tool to achieve this. The product expands when you soak it in warm water, the material is soft, it isn't as rough as some people describe it but I would only recommend to use the on your cheeks, outer face, chin, and forehead because the other areas such as, your eyes are too delicate for this sponge. I've only used it for a day or two and I can see improvements - having clear skin makes life so much easier interim's of applying make up on and having to be a little more confident without make up. This is definitely worth adding into your daily facial routine.

Glossybox VS Birchbox

So Glossybox or Birchbox?

I am not going to state every detail about what is inside and what the use of each item is as everyone does this, but instead I want to state my opinion. As I said on previous post that I've only recently started looking at beauty boxes, so I decided at looking at one of the two top beauty box companies around at the moment.First of all Birchbox first impressions were nice packaging and illustration display of Lulu Guinness feature, I was particularly impressed with the products as I felt that it has a 'high end' feel towards it. One good point is they do look into expensive and unknown/not as known brands. I like everything else apart from the rock because I don't think I will be eating it; however it is a nice touch to the box illustration and will be on display in my room in case if anyone wants to eat it! The packaging on Birchbox feels a lot cheaper and very environmental friendly intirms of material of the box and bag that comes with it, comparing to Glossybox it's a much bigger box and it feels nice against my hands with more room to put own beauty products in.

I haven't been overall happy with Glossybox lately and I don't think many people have either. But I was pleased with this months box as it has products I would actually use with the correct colours. One thing I notice in beauty boxes is it's nice when they divide each products for each reason say 1 product is for skincare, face, lips, hair, hands. I don't like products duplicating. Full size products will be the best products in any beauty box as they will raise up the value of what you are paying for. Both companies I have subscribed to are good because it doesn't require any type of contract - you can easily sign off it when you want to for what ever reason; but for the moment I will keep my subscription until I find a reason to undo it.

Overall,Birchbox products tend to be more classier and less high street feel towards the end products. But I am disappointed in the packaging - but the products are reasonably 'good'. Not sure what to do with the boxes still but the organic type draw string bags are useful to carry around your beauty products if your on the go.

Glossybox products sometimes do have a high street and regular feel towards end products depending whether you get a mix and match product that includes a expensive products like March 2014 box as this included a serum. Packaging is very pretty and high quality and boxes can be re-used; i.e. can be made into draws for your desk etc.At the moment I have mixed feelings I like Birchbox products, but I like Glossybox packaging. I've only had one Birchbox so far so I can't really tell what future products they may have; although I do have confidence in them.

On the other hand I've had 3 Glossybox's so far but with them they are very unpredictable - you never know what you get - it can be a really bad box or a really good box (products are not consistent which they should really - I think theirs something wrong with the buyer or something is wrong).

Hope you enjoy reading my rant/opinion!

Beauty Box

It's 2014!
It's also been a long time since I have last posted anything.
So I have been hearing this rave about 'beauty boxes' where you can get a box sent to you with up to 5 beauty products which are from 'luxury' or 'boutique' brands - brands that we have not heard about before - brands that are quality. Since it was a new year I thought I'd opt for a fresh start were I am able to order a fresh beauty box. So I ordered my first from Glossybox - the first Jan 2014 box was very disappointing interims of the products; products that were not luxury or boutique, they were brands that we have heard before and unflattering. Apart from the disappointment the presentation was lovely it came in a good quality box, ribbon etc. I wanted to give Glossybox another chance to see if they improve, so I waited for my Feb 2014 box to arrive. Surprisingly the Feb 2014 box improved a little but it could do better. Brands are still brands that we have heard of and some item I wouldn't even use but I felt like I was forced to use it just to get some wear out of it. At the moment I am waiting for my March 2014 box. On the side I have ordered my first Birchbox which is another company that does beauty boxes which is created in America. So this month I will be comparing and contrast both of these boxes. And I will be cancelling one box this month if it does not improve any further for any of these brands. I will admit having these boxes can make us girls feel good by having a beauty present every month, hence we all use beauty product and perfect for those beauty junkies out there. However we don't know what kind of products we will receive which is the downfall and we wouldn't know how much the products cost in total before hand. Although I do think some beauty products are quite flimsy interims of small samples and samples that you can get yourself on-line or on the counter. I know beauty box companies are looking at there budget but honestly they need to look into buying risks and maybe spend a little more to improve there products for full size items. On my next post about beauty boxes I will be showing you the difference between Birchbox and Glossybox receiving it on the same month March.
